1949 Masters Tournament Series Ticket #3001

This 1949 Masters ticket comes in the shape of an octagon and is the only one between 1948-51 that was printed in yellow and not red. This ticket numbered 3001 measures 3 1/2" by 3 1/2". Ticket presents in near mint condition when reviewed for corner strength, clarity of color and depth of stamping. Two flaws which slightly hold this stunning example back from being the best in existence are as follows 1. very minor wear at lowest portion of badge and 2.ticket carries ink name of 'Mrs. Bill Leitzel' on front. Significant year in Masters history with Sam Snead's first Masters triumph combined with the first ever presentation of a green jacket to a Masters champion. This example of the seldom seen '49 SERIES TICKET merits inclusion in a high end collection of Masters tickets so many collectors are striving for, but so few are achieving.
