1926 Bobby Jones US Open Trophy Presentation Wire Photo - Philadelphia Inquirer
Fresh off a British Open victory two weeks prior, Bobby Jones is shown in this July 14, 1926 wire photo receiving his hard-earned trophy following his 1926 U.S. Open triumph. I'm sure this trophy looked nice alongside the Claret Jug, and this was the second of Jones' four U.S. Open titles. The Philadelphia Inquirer black and white photo has Bobby Jones and W.C. Fownes, Jr. inside a box, likely done in the paper's editing process as they sized up their front-page photo. The photo shows some wear around the edges, but presents very well.
