Ben Hogan Signed 1951 'Follow the Sun' Movie Poster
In this lot is a one-sheet (27 x 41"), signed in black ink litho (#51/188) with positioning of autograph in a light green area of poster with perfect position of autograph in right hand corner above Mr. Hogan's head. Follow the Sun was released in 1951 and depicted the story of Ben Hogan. It was directed by Sidney Lanfield (The Hound of the Baskervilles) and starring Glen Ford as Ben and Anne Baxter as his wife, Valerie. Oversize items signed by Hogan always carry a premium due to the scarcity of his appearances away from Texas later in life. This movie house beauty carries traditional four fold seam due to its oversize nature, and the customary pin holes in four corners to display mounting in the theater. It is currently housed in a light plastic wrap, for protection of piece. This can easily be removed should the winning bidder wish to facilitate display as a certain centerpiece of a room. Verso side of poster carries The National Screen Service stamp. These movie posters are very seldom encountered signed by Mr. Hogan, and should be bid accordingly. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this Ben Hogan signature, and their letter #Y6391 (as seen in lot photos) will come with this item.
