1960 US Amateur Championship Contestant Badge - Deane Beman Winner


Here we have a 1960 U.S. Amateur Championship Contestant badge, originally issued to Richard Crawford. A letter from Crawford accompanies this lot. This badge remains in good condition. Deane Beman would go on to win the 1960 U.S. Amateur Championship 6 & 4 over Robert W. Gardner. Crawford was a successful collegiate and amateur golfer who also was a regular on the PGA Tour from 1965-1975. He became the first player in NCAA history to win the National Individual title twice (1959 and 1960), was a member of two NCAA championship teams at the University of Houston. Crawford was an All-American in 1960 and 1961. Crawford competed in the 1961 Masters and was runner-up three times on the PGA Tour.
