1947 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool Program Signed by Arthur Perowne
An official program from the 1947 Open Championship played at Royal Liverpool Golf Club and signed by Arthur Perowne is available to bidders in this lot. Perowne was Anglican bishop was the first Bishop of Bradford and, from 1931, was the Bishop of Worcester. He passed away a year later in 1948. Perowne signed the program in pencil. Fred Daly became the first Irishman to win a British Open, and it was his lone major championship. Daly won 22 times in his career playing on the European PGA Tour. This 1947 Open Championship program shows little to no signs of wear and presents nicely in excellent condition.
