Arnold Palmer & Harvie Ward Signed 8x10 Photo
R.I.P. to The King. We'll never see anyone in golf as beloved as Arnold Palmer, and his career accomplishments are overshadowed by his impact on the game. The late Palmer passed away Sunday, September 25 at age 87. Arnold Palmer and Harvie Ward were both collegians and amateurs during the 1940's and 1950's. Palmer claimed the 1954 Amateur championship, and Ward came through afterwards and won the next two. Both golfer's have struck a great signature on this classic photo. Ward is best known for his amateur career, while Plamer is known for his professional one. Harvie won both the U.S. Amateur (twice) and the British Amateur Championship. Upon Ward's passing, Arnie had said "Harvie was, first of all, a good friend...he was an extremely fine player and one of the fiercest amateur competitors I ever knew. He was a great guy, and one who certainly made his niche in the world of golf as one of its finest players." He is also a member of the North Carolina Golf Hall of Fame, Carolinas Sports Hall of Fame, Carolinas PGA Hall of Fame and Northern California Golf Writers Hall of Fame.
