Jim Furyk Signed 2016 Sunday Travelers Ticket & Pairing Guide with Record "58" Notation
Three years earlier Jim Furyk had become only the sixth player in PGA Tour history to record a score of 59 in competition. He had the background to go low, and go low he did on Sunday, August 7th in the fourth of the Travelers Championship. A birdie putt on 16 put him on pace for the record "58". Every potential roadblock to the record was met with a tee shot to the fairway (Furyk only missed one during the round). or a green in regulation. In complete control of his game. Furyk would par 17 and make the walk up 18 with a chance to shoot 57. When the birdie putt slid by the hole, Furyk cleaned up the remaining two feet to etch his name in history as the first player to ever shoot 58 in more than 1.5 Million Competitive Rounds Played On Tour! Two perfect commemoratives from that historic round are available in this lot, a pairing sheet and ticket, both have been signed by Furyk and enhanced with a '58' notation in the shot maker's hand. James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides a letter of authenticity with this lot.
Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on Sunday, October 2nd with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
