Arnold Palmer & Jack Nicklaus Signed 1965 Sports Illustrated Masters Issue

R.I.P. to The King. We'll never see anyone in golf as beloved as Arnold Palmer, and his career accomplishments are overshadowed by his impact on the game. The late Palmer passed away Sunday, September 25 at age 87. An April 5, 1965 Sports Illustrated Masters issue signed by winner Jack Nicklaus and runner-up Arnold Palmer is offered here. The SI issue shows a 25-year old Nicklaus chipping with the defending champion Palmer looking in. Both golfers leave strong autographs in black Sharpie. The magazine remains in good condition, showing minimal wear and slight creases on the cover. The Golden Bear won decisively over runners-up Palmer and Gary Player, by nine strokes. Nicklaus, Palmer, and Player comprised the "Big Three" in golf during the 1960s and were all tied after two rounds at the 1965 Masters, before Jack pulled away. This was Nicklaus' second of six Masters wins (1963, 1966, 1972, 1975, 1986). The King couldn't defend his 1964 Masters victory, but was no stranger to the Green Jacket, winning the tournament three times prior (1958, 1960, 1962).
