Tom Watson Signed Sports Illustrated 1,000 to 1 Hole Out - Framed

Tom Watson signed a portion of a Sports Illustrated magazine issued June 28, 1982 following his miraculous chip shot that aided his 1982 U.S. Open victory at Pebble Beach over Jack Nicklaus. In what would go down as one of the most memorable major championships of all time, Nicklaus sat comfortably in the clubhouse at 4-under par, thinking that he had done enough to earn his fifth U.S. Open victory, especially considering the predicament Watson found himself in at the par-3 17th hole. Tied heading into the 17th hole, Watson hit his tee shot into the rough just off the green, setting up a '1,000 to 1' chip shot on a fast downhill green sloping into the Pacific Ocean. In what ESPN has dubbed the greatest shot in golf history, Watson's chip shot hit the flag stick and fell miraculously into the cup for a decisive birdie. Watson signed in red Sharpie and the framed photo remains in great condition.
