Byron Nelson Signed Ltd Ed #161/250 Print - Deluxe Frame
This 1997 deluxe framed Legends Series print is Limited Edition #161/250 and commemorates the 60 years anniversary of Nelson's first Masters Championship. It is signed by Byron Nelson as well as the artists Scott Medlock. Hall of Famer Byron Nelson is best remembered for the 1945 season, when he won 19 tournaments, including 11 consecutively. His 52 career wins include two Masters, two PGA's and a U.S. Open. Posed photo shows Lord Byron at the height of his 1940's success. Byron Nelson was a PGA Tour golfer between 1935 and 1946 and became the second recipient of the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. Byron Nelson and two other well-known golfers of the time, Ben Hogan and Sam Snead, were born within seven months of each other in 1912. Although he won many tournaments in the course of his relatively brief career, he is mostly remembered today for having won 11 consecutive tournaments and 18 total tournaments in 1945. He retired officially at the age of 34 to be a rancher, later becoming a commentator and lending his name to the HP Byron Nelson Championship, the first PGA Tour event to be named for a professional golfer
Frame measures 28 1/2" x 35"
