1933 British Boys Open Golf Championship Souvenir Program - Carnoustie
First introduced in 1921, the competition was for only boys age 16 and under and was played initially at Royal Ascot. The club actually dissolved in 1923, but was carried on with the help of two of it's founders, in turn changing the limit to 18 and under the following year. The age limit still remains the same to this day. Operating separately for years, the R&A took over the operations and responsibilities in 1949. In the 1933 contest, P.B. Lucas defeated W. McLachen 3&2 to claim victory at the 1933 British Boys Open Golf Championship. Presented here in great condition is the souvenir from that 1933 contest held at Carnoustie Golf Club.
