1979 US Amateur at Canterbury Golf Club Sponsor Badge
Mark O'Meara was the winner at the 19th held Amateur Championship. Canterbury played host to the event which saw the eventual 1998 Masters and Open Champion defeat John Cook 8&7. O'Meara's victory in the The Masters came at his 15th attempt, which is still a record.
