Geoff Ogilvy Signed 2006 US Open at Winged Foot Flag
Winged Foot, just outside New York City, was the site of another down to the last hole U.S. Open in 2006. It has to be one of the wildest US Open finishes in history. Ogilvy did his part and made clutch pars on the final two holes, including a chip-in on 17. Jim Furyk, Colin Montgomerie, and Phil Mickelson all failed to par the 72nd hole to give Ogilvy an unlikely one-stroke victory. Mickelson was seeking his third straight major championship, but double-bogeyed the final hole after failing to hit the fairway. Montgomerie double-bogeyed the same hole when he found the rough, then three-putted. After bogeying the 15th, Furyk missed a 5ft putt for par on the 72nd hole. All players finished over par for the first time in a U.S. Open since 1978. Offered in this lot is a Geoff Ogilvy signed 2006 US Open at Winged Foot Flag. PSA has already authenticated this flag and their inventory number is PSA/DNA #F12594
