Sure to be a great addition to any collection, a seldom seen exceptional autograph is presented to you in this lot. Arthur Havers was the 1923 Open Champion. This was the very first Open Championship to be held at Royal Troon, and Arthur defeated defending champion Walter Hagen by one stroke. This wasn't just any stroke though, Arthur holed out a bunker shot on the 72nd hole! A first and only time major champion defeated the defending champion (Hagen) by holing out a bunker shot on the very last hole. Hagen would go on to win the following year, therefore book-ending an outstanding triumph by Havers. James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides letter of authenticity with this lot.
