Tiger Woods Signed 2001 SP Authentic Stars Ltd Ed Golf Rookie Card 686/900
"I got it!" We can only imagine the reaction to first seeing this card appear in the printed silver metallic wrapper. Empty boxes of "ripped" product scattered around for the cause - the painstaking and pricey search for this Tiger Woods signed 2001 SP Authentic Stars limited edition card. Considered a 'holy grail' for many collectors, most came up empty. Routinely featured on Sports Illustrated magazines, Wheaties boxes and Nike advertising; Tiger Mania was the result of the unbelievable Tiger Slam completion just months before at the 2001 Masters.
This investment-grade, in-pack, on-card signature and serial numbered to 900 Tiger Woods chase card came from his 2001 rookie card set. A close-shot of Woods chipping on a greened out background is centered on this white and silver-tone SP Authentic card design that exudes class. The time-period blue fine-point sharpie signature remains bold and clean, with others of these thin and quick autos often not lasting the test of time. "Look for 'signed authentic stars' sequentially numbered rookie cards" advertised the Upper Deck hobby box on the box top next to its star set entrant. Everyone looked, few found.
