1971 Ryder Cup 100% Pure Cashmere Sweater

The 1971 Ryder Cup was held at Old Warson Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri on September 16-18. As those who have travelled there at this time of the year the weather can be a little unpredictable as early Fall sets in. In fact, Arnold Palmer made use of his same model U.S. team sweater (only in white) during his Saturday morning singles match against Harry Bannerman (see photo with this lot). This lot offers the same designed and also bearing the 1971 U.S team logo for a different days match in navy. These United States team sweaters were produced by Barrie, a top Scottish cashmere producer. There is no size tagging, but approximately a large on this lightly worn garment.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on September 27th with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
