1971 Ryder Cup European Team Jacket
55% dacron polyester and 45% wool. Continuing with the trend to grand, high fashion the PGA of Great Britain in conjunction with their Team Captain Eric Brown turned the tailoring of the team jackets over to the renowned haberdashery Simpson Piccadilly (as seen in pictured tagging) with flagship store just off Savile Row in the heart of London. The ease-of-wear of the trousers had already led to the brand DAKS (as seen in pictured tagging) being popular in golf wear. As shown in accompanying photo the breast pocket of this official 1971 Great Britain team jacket bears the embroidered Lion logo with wording RYDER CUP TEAM 1971 underneath.
