1948 Columbus $10k Invitational Tournament Program - Lloyd Mangrum Winner
The third edition of the PGA's Columbus Open held at Wynadot C.C. saw the professionals destroy this municipal course. Lloyd Mangrum was the champion of the birdie fest with a score of 268, a whopping 16 under par. The amateurs did not fair badly on the course either with the simon-pures paced by Frank Stranahan at 5 under, 279 after closing rounds of 70 and 69. Near Mint condition program from this PGA Tour event. I wonder if a young Columbus home town boy, Jack Nicklaus, was at this event?
