1955 First Cavalcade of Golf $50,000 Open Tournament Program - Middlecoff Winner
Held at the easy to say Shackamaxon Golf Club in the 'Garden State' of New Jersey, the First Cavalacade of Golf Open wasn't only the first, but it was also the last. This one time only tournament was won by Cary Middlecoff, and it saw Cary claim victory by two strokes over fellow Hall of Famer 'Slammin' Sam Snead. 1955 was a career year for Middlecoff, and this victory was his final of the season which numbered at 6, claiming the Masters and Western Open along the way. The purse was the richest ever offered at the time for a PGA Tour event, $50,000 with $10,000 as the winner's share. This excellent condition scarcely seen program would be a great addition to any collection.
