1938 Cleveland Open Golf Tournament Program and Invitation

Held at the Oakwood Club, the 1931 US Open champion Billy Burke claimed victory at the 1938 Cleveland Open. An interesting note, throughout Burke's golf career he used an unorthodox grip due to the loss of two fingers on his left hand. Lot also includes an invitation to a Calcutta Sweepstakes Dinner prior to the tournament, culminating in a sweepstakes to follow dinner. Many golf professionals of the day were to be present at this event as well. Both the program and invitation are in great condition with the program only have a slight crease on front bottom right and small slit on top center.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on August 2nd with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
