1939 North & South Open Championship Thursday Ticket - Pinehurst
The North and South Open Championship was one of the most prestigious professional golf tournaments in the United States in the first half of the twentieth century. Presented here is a 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" paper ticket from Thursday for the 1939 contest which Byron Nelson would go on to win for his sole North & South victory. Over the years Pinehurst has had a series of other tournaments with the "North and South" moniker, some of which still continue today. Hogan, Snead, and Hagen were some of the big name players that have claimed victory at least 3 times at the North & South Championship
