Rare Chambers Patent “The Omnes Golf Ball Marker” Cast Iron Golf Press
This is a prime example of how times in golf history have indeed changed. Losing golf balls was a problem, and so was a caddy "misappropriating" someone's golf ball. Golfer's marked their golf balls not to decipher which belonged to who throughout a day on the course, but rather that if they lost them they would be returned. Ordering and owning an Omnes Marker in England back in 1910 was to be used so that every member of a club would be assigned a registered number and all balls he purchased would be stamped with that number. A great piece of golf history that still functions and displays exceptionally well. Retains most of the original makers details to the cast iron dial the top stamped Chambers Patent no 18712-10. All components in tact and functional. All letter and numbers are on face.
Stamped on face top:
Chambers Patent no 18712-10
