Limited Edition Bobby Jones Print by O.& J. Cubbage
The original copper plate etched by W. Douglas Macleod (1892-1963)in 1930 to celebrate the Grand Slam of Bobby Jones was unearthed from an antique shop. In 1990 this print was pressed from the original plate. This edition was launched in 1990 at the Open in St. Andrews to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Jones' Slam in 1930. The edition was limited to 200 copies with this being #63/200 on acid-free conservation paper using light-fast inks.In order to preserve the magnificent etched original plate for posterity it was presented to the British Golf Museum on the condition that no further prints would be pressed from the plate. This detailed work bearing the image of Jones at the highlight of his career comes framed with all original papers which accompanied print still present.
