Lew Worsham Counter Signed Check for 1961 Pro-Am Championship Winnings

Lew Worsham was the champion of the 1947 US Open at the St. Louis Country Club. This was his only major victory, but he pulled it off in grand fashion. His playoff victory over Sam Snead was most likely the most disappointing of Snead's long run of sorrows at his country's Open Championships. Although that victory was by far his most important, he hoisted the trophy 11 other times during his career. This lot contains the actual check that Worsham was issued for his share of the purse at the Losantiville Pro-Amateur Championship that took place in Cincinnati in 1961 in which Worsham signed on the reverse side upon giving to his bank. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)

2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
