Late 1880's to 1895 Molded Mesh Line Cut Gutty Golf Ball

Close examination of this antique line cut molded mesh gutty ball concludes that approximately 60 percent of its original paint has impressively stayed intact. Perhaps this is at least partly because there also appears to not yield any strike marks on the sphere. The sharpe grid pattern was done by a machine approximately 130 years ago. Rolling back the ball was not a concern in this era, finalizing the automating process of golf ball for mass production. Serving as an educational tool to illustrate just how far the game of golf and its hard goods have come, this unmarked ball is all original and worthy of inclusion in a golf ball revolution display or display alongside other gutty contemporaries. .
