John Jackson Long Nose Club with Lambskin Grip - Stamped Jackson

Some say Hugh Philip's greatest competitor when it came to the professional production of golf clubs would be none other than John Jackson. Jackson, of Perth (1805-1878) produced high quality clubs that with precision and craft allowed a durability seldom seen in clubs during that era. Here we are, almost 170 years later offering one of John Jackson's clubs to you. This would undoubtedly be a cornerstone piece for many collectors as a representation of golf history from long before our time. According to Jeff Ellis' book "The Clubmakers' Art", "although Jackson was making clubs during the same period as Hugh Philp and Douglas McEwan, very few of his clubs remain compared to the number of known McEwan and Philp clubs." ("The Clubmakers' Art" (2nd Ed., page 52). The fine craftmanship shown in constructing this club demands a place in any prized collection. John Jackson Long Nose Club - Stamped Jackson on the crown, has a lambskin grip and measures 41” length. It's in very good condition with minor wear. From the collection of PGA Reach, with their certificate of authenticity accompanying this lot.

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:

This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, March 3rd, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
