Jerome D. Travers 1906 Lynnewood Hall Cup at Huntingdon Sterling Silver Trophy
Offered here for bidders is the Lynnewood Hall Cup trophy. Held at the Huntingdon Valley Country Club established in 1898, this trophy was won by Jerome "Jerry" Travers. He was one of the top players of his day, one of only five amateurs in history to win the U.S. Open, claiming the Championship in 1915. He also won the U.S.G.A. Amateur four times (1907, 1908, 1912, 1913). Travers was voted into the PGA Hall of Fame in the original group in 1940. A letter of authenticity from Mrs. Jerome Travers accompanies this lot.
