Jack Nicklaus & 1959 Walker Cup Team Signed Golf Illustrated Magazine
In May of 1959, Jack Nicklaus traveled as a 19-year-old Ohio State Freshman to Scotland with the United States team to compete in the Walker Cup matches against Great Britain, held at the fast playing Muirfield. U.S. team member Harvie Ward always up for a good time gave each of his teammates nicknames with Nicklaus carrying the tag "Snow White", Ward did not let up on himself carrying the nickname ("E. Mickey Mouse"). The relaxed mood around the team carried through to victory in what many call the finest U.S. squad assembled. Nicklaus was 2-0-0 winning in foursomes and easily winning a singles match 5 & 4. This offering is for a signed Golf Illustrated featuring Jack Nicklaus and the 1959 US Walker Cup Team getting off the plane on the cover, with signatures from Jack and six of the United States team members including Tommy Aaron and Deane Beman.
