Jack Nicklaus' 1987 Ryder Cup Blazer
Personal Memorabilia from Jack Nicklaus's career rarely comes on the market. He is arguably the greatest golfer of all time and almost all of his mementos reside with him or in museums and Halls of Fame. The Ryder Cup is an event that Jack has always cherished. The Golden Bear over his storied career in the ever popular international event competed in the second most singles matches at 10. Jack and Tom Watson formed an unbeatable combo for the United States squad, a perfect 4-0 in competition. In the 1987 biennial matches, Jack was the Captain against his Ryder Cup friend Tony Jacklin. The US was beat 15-13 at Jack's own Memorial Golf Club at Muirfield Village in Dublin Ohio.
This seldom seen, piece of museum quality haberdashery was custom tailored by the Hamilton Suit Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Hamilton is also the tailor of the Masters Green jackets for Augusta National. On the inside Union Tag it also notes Nicklaus J and the date 9/4/87. There is also a copy of a receipt from the Junior League of palm beach to Barbara Nicklaus for this donation. Great piece of Nicklaus history with great providence.
