Jack Nicklaus Signed March 8, 1962 Golf Illustrated Magazine - Wayne Beck Collection

"Jack Nicklaus, who has now turned Professional, Intends to visit Britain this Season," boasted the British publication 'Golf Illustrated' on March 8, 1962. Months before his US Open win, Jack Nicklaus is seen muscling a ball out of the sand trap. Nicklaus added his name to this once 'One Shilling' magazine in black sharpie. Nicklaus would find great success at The Open Championship during his career. The Golden Bear won this third and final Open championship at the 1978 contest held at St. Andrews. The win by only two strokes marked the fifteenth of his eighteen major championships. The victory also completed his third career grand slam. Defending champion Tom Watson was the 54 hole leader but couldn't hold on for the win, faltering back and finishing 6 strokes behind. 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
