Jack Nicklaus Signed 100th U.S. Open Cachet From Pebble Beach Plus 2 Others
Amazing as this may seem the United States Post Office has a branch that is right off the putting green at Pebble Beach adjacent to the shops which border this green. A perfect promotional venture was to have the Postal Service produce a stamped cachet for the event. The artwork of the oceanside course depicted on this envelope is from the brush of noted sports artist Armando Delgado. He has signed the catchet #113 of the edition of 3,000. As if the signature of the artist is not special enough added bonus to this brightly colored commemorative of the 100th U.S. Open is that Jack has hand signed envelope #114 in black sharpie as well. Also included in this lot is two cachets from the 'Golden Bear Station'
