1962 PGA Championship Contestant Money Clip - Jack Fleck

Jack Fleck facing a PGA championship field of 170 shot even par over his final three rounds to tie for 7th place(six shots behind winner Gary Player), it was Jack's top career finish in the PGA. The badge of contestants admittance that year for the PGA displayed a blue, and white color pattern of enamel against the 1 3/8” x 2 ½” money clip which carried engraving 1962 on its facing side. Fleck's money clip issued for the '62 event is offered here still retaining all it's original enamel. The reverse of this memento carries stampings of where these matches were contested "Aronimink Golf Club" "Newtown Square, PA" and the date July 19-22. When seen the remaining PGA contestants badges, from the original 170 issued to players, can often not be associated to any specific player. Adding extra value to this example is the known quantity of Jack Fleck and his status as a major winner of the 1955 U.S. Open.
