1956 US Open Contestant Pin - Jack Fleck

The 1956 U.S. Open marked the 4th of 13 Opens Jack Fleck would qualify for in his career. Offered here is his contestants badge comprised of metal measuring 1 1/8"x 1 1/4" with raised lettering on the facing side that includes "PLAYER", "1956" and "USGA". A circular blue enamel section, also appearing on the front of this extremely limited collectable (with only 159 players in the field), carries wording "OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP". The reverse of this badge, from the 1956 Championship won by Cary Middlecoff at Oak Hill C.C., still carries it's original pin clasp in working fashion.
