J.H. Taylor Signature Dated 1925 - Partial Article/Photo Page
John Henry Taylor was an English golfer who along with Harry Vardon and James Braid dominated British golf at the turn of the 20th century, earning them the nickname the "Great Triumvirate." Taylor won five Open Championships (1894, 1895, 1900, 1909, 1913) and was runner-up to Vardon at the 1900 U.S. Open. This lot presents a Taylor signed large album page with a partial article and photo. Taylor signed in blue ink and it is noted on the page that it was obtained while on a visit to Glasgow in 1925. As you would expect, this signed album page shows some wear. There is slight staining on the left border and the photo is not entirely intact. An early 1900s John Henry Taylor signed item commands attention and we expect heavy interest. The item measures 6 1/2" x 5 1/4." James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this autograph and their certification of its authenticity will come with this lot.
