J.H. Taylor Handwritten & Signed 1904 Letter on Personal Letterhead - Framed
Here is a hand-written by J.H. Taylor on his personal letter head that proudly displays pictures of the Open Championship medals he was awarded in 1894, 1895 and 1900. This piece is further heightened with his proper send off of a flowing black ink signature that the Great Triumvirate member inked in 1904. Taylor would have more Open Championship medals to add to his letterhead later, as he won in 1909 by a comfortable six strokes over Tom Ball and James Braid and again in 1913 British Open, when the Royal Liverpool Golf Club gallery saw Taylor win his incredible 5th and final Open Championship title over the defending champion Ted Ray by 8 strokes. This letter is in response to a personal friend that wrote to him to hopefully set up a golfing round with Taylor. Taylor explained that he would be out of town and would have interest upon arrival. The Great Triumvirate was the original Big 3 in golf and included J.H. Taylor, Harry Vardon and James Braid. 12 1/2" x 20 3/4". James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
