Horton Smith Signed 1959 Postcard
Horton Smith is prominently remembered for winning the first Masters held in 1934 and following it up with another victory in the third staging of the event in 1936. This three time Ryder Cupper was so much more posting a win in the French Open on his 20th birthday in 1928 while continuing to be a top player into the 1940's. The Hall of Famer has signed this 3x5 G.P.C. with a large penning and underscoring flair, with autograph and "yours Golfingly" inscription rating "9-10" in every respect. The card reveals tape remnants from a past mounting evident on the face. A 7" x 9" matted black and white photo of Horton Smith putting at the Augusta National comes with this offering. A most appropriate image for this player who was known as the exceptional putter of his generation. James Spence Authentication provides authenticity with this lot.
