Horton Smith Hand-Written 1957 Letter - Signed Simply "Horton"

Here we have a hand-written letter from the winner of the first Masters Tournament, Horton Smith. The hand-written letter was dated Nov. 18, 1957 and signed simply "Horton." Horton Smith signed items are a coveted autograph in the golf collectors world because of his win at the inaugural Masters Tournament held at Augusta National Golf Club. Smith also won the third Masters in 1936. See photos for the content of Smith's hand-written note to a 'Warren,' which has a letterhead from The Lafayette Hotel and Lanais in Long Beach, California, where Horton Smith was staying at the time. This letter has withstood the test of time and presents extremely well, along with a "Horton" signature, making this a nice find for collectors.

James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this autograph and their certification of its authenticity will come with this lot.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on Sunday, October 2nd with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
