Harry Vardon, James Braid, and J.H. Taylor Framed Signed Cuts
This deluxe frame piece measures 10 3/4" x 12 1/4" and hails originally from the collection of renowned autograph collector and expert Mark Emerson (attested additionally by his hometown Tequesta, FL framing label on verso). John Henry (J.H.) Taylor along with James Braid and Harry Vardon, formed golf's "Great Triumvirate" at the turn of the 20th century, so named for the trio's domination of the Open Championship. Taylor won it five times from 1894-1913, Braid also five times from 1901-1910 and Vardon captured the Claret Jug a record six times from 1896-1914. This awe inspiring trio's autographs are captured together in this single ensemble with each appearing in deep black fountain pen ink at a strength of 9 to 10 on each. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed each of the autographs from Taylor, Braid and Vardon with their letter of authenticity coming to the winning bidder on this lot.
