Hale Irwin's Personal Tournament Used Red Kapalua Miller Golf Bag

Three-time US Open champion Hale Irwin represented Maui Island's Kapalua Resort after finding great success in the state of Hawaii and capturing what the natives call the 'Aloha Spirit.' It began with a 1981 Hawaiian Open win on the PGA Tour prior to going on a state golfing run that few will ever duplicate. "In his first 21 Champions Tour events in Hawaii, Irwin finished either first or second 11 times. In his career he has won nearly $2.5 million in 28 events and he’s a cumulative 226-under par in those tournaments with an average score of 69.15." The PGA Tour website marveled.

Offered in this lot is Hale Irwin's vibrant red tournament-used full-size Miller golf tour bag exhibiting his stitched name and the Kapalua butterfly logo for maximum display. Hale Irwin was one of the toughest of competitors both the PGA and Champions Tours have had the pleasure of watching over the last 40 years. Hale Irwin closed out three US Open titles (1974, 1979, 1990) on the regular tour and his winning has continued even as he passed 60 years of age on the senior version of the PGA. The bag remains in good condition, with subtle welcomed signs of usage including slight scuffing on the big pocket below his name. A signed letter of provenance from Hale Irwin comes with this lot.
