Hal Sutton's 2004 US Ryder Cup Captain Closing Bell Ceremony Medallions with Gavel in Box
These medallions and gavel were presented to Hal Sutton for ringing the bell at The New York Stock Exchange on August 23, a calendar turn before his 2004 Ryder Cup captaincy. When examining the substantial medals, the observer will find a shallow relief of The New York Stock Exchange's 1922 establishment date and building structure on one side and a tussling Wall Street Bull and Bear above 'Hal Sutton - 2004 US Ryder Cup Captain - Closing Bell Ceremony - August 23, 2004" on the other. The privilege of ringing the bell at the NYSE is not given to many athletes, with Hal's celebrating a special occasion. The gavel and casing accompanies the medallions from The Hal Sutton Collection. 3" diameter. A signed letter of provenance from Hal Sutton comes with this lot.
