Full Set of 50 Copes Tobacco Cards - 1900
Here we have the complete set of 50 Cope's Golfers cards. These cards were packaged inside Cope's brand tobacco products and served not only to get the consumer to keep buying the product, but also as reinforcement for the packaging itself. The cards features such scenes as A Bad Lie, Missed the Globe, and The Tee Shot. Notable golfers such as Tom Morris Sr and Tom Morris Jr, Alex Herd, J. H. Taylor, and F. G. Tait are also depicted. The back of the cards has the full list of the titles that make up the series. It is hard to come by any of these cards, having been released in 1900, let alone a full set. The cards are in fair condition and are ready to display.
