1952 50th Western Amateur Sterling Championship Tray - Frank Stranahan


In the 36-hole match play final, Frank Stranahan dropped a 40-foot eagle putt on opponent Harvey Ward and never trailed in the match to win his second successive Western Amateur golf championship with the final margin registered at 3 and 2. He joined old-timers H.C. Egan and Chick Evans as the only players to win the Western four or more times on the 50th anniversary of the event. Stranahan's victors tray is front engraved:
