Francis Ouimet Framed Autograph from M. Emerson

14 1/4" x 11 1/4" frame with the cut signature measuring 4 1/2" x 3" Ouimet was an American amateur golfer, who is frequently referred to as the "father of amateur golf" in the United States. He won the U.S. Open in 1913, and was the first non-Briton elected Captain of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974. The ornate signature of Francis Ouimet penned in the 1950's appears in this ensemble which was purchased from noted golf autograph expert Mark Emerson. It has remained in our consignors distinguished collection since its purchase. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this Ouimet signature and their letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
