The name Eddie Lowry likely rings a bell. Lowrey was of course Francis Ouimet's young US Open winning caddie. Interestingly enough, he grew up to become a well-established millionaire car dealer and business man that placed a bet on "The Match" in 1956. With a soft spot and great deal of enthusiasm for amateur golf, he had all the confidence in the world for Venturi and Ward. Seen Here is Lowry in front of the patrons carrying their new and improbable US Open Francis Ouimet after one of the most significant US Opens ever in 1913.
