Edward B. Dudley Memorial Trophy for PGA Club Professional Of The Year
Contained in this lot is the sizable impressive 43" tall Edward B. Dudley Memorial touring Trophy presented to the PGA Club Professional Of The Year. Fittingly this prestigious award's namesake was none other than Ed Dudley. Many are familiar with his touring pro career, as Edward B. Dudley won 15 times and was selected to represent his country for four US Ryder Cup teams. His legacy however was likely left excelling in a different avenue of the game of golf, that of teaching. Dudley used his knowledge of the game to become the very first head golf professional at Augusta National Golf Club from 1932 until 1957, later inducted into the PGA Hall of Fame. Famous pupils included dignitaries such as Dwight D Eisenhower and Hollywood's Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. This trophy was awarded to and held by deserving PGA professional golfers on 17 instances from 1984-2000, 43" Tall, Very Good Condition, Minor Wear and a break in the plinth that can be seen in the pictures.
