Early 1900’s Bull Durham Tobacco Co. Golf Advertising Sign - Large Version Framed
This is one of the most impressive and rarest of golf themed advertising pieces we have handled. This is one of only three known such examples in existence. Large and totally in charge is this wonderful canvas on gatorboard Bull Durham Tobacco Golf Advertising Display Sign from the early 1900’s. Loose-leaf tobacco that was first produced back in the 1850's, and Bull Durham Tobacco Co. soon went international with their colorful advertising illustrations like this one to thank. Bringing jobs and great notoriety to Durham, North Carolina, the headquarters was only an hour and a half by car from Pinehurst.
It was only natural to incorporate golf into the successful campaigning. "On every green" they all roll "BULL" it's easy for YOU to roll your own genuine "Bull" Durham. This oversize framed sign boasts that putting product ploy and depicts the contrast of the time-period follow through golfer silhouette on an orange background with yellow accenting of the Good Old "Bull" and "Bull" Durham. The advertising collector pining for their centerpiece need to look no further. The winning bidder will be getting one of three known such examples. Measures 60" x 24"

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
Place your bids NOW. The auction will close beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, April 9th. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. Each lot has its own 30 minute countdown clock during extended bidding. The clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. Place your initial bids BEFORE 10pm ET in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET
Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid placed during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
