Circa 1937 Multi-Signed A.G. Spalding Pamphlet - Smith, Cooper, Thomson, & Little
This A.G. Spalding 'Golf Educational Department' Pamphlet has been signed by the following golfers in their vintage signatures:
Horton Smith
Jimmy Thomson
Harry Cooper
Lawson Little
Robert T. Jones, Jr. was the Executive Director
The autographs, signed in pencil, are hard to come by. Smith leaves his vintage signature on this pamphlet, which is a catch for any golf historians. Smith was the winner of the first ever Masters Tournament in 1934, as well as the third in 1936. Cooper won 31 PGA Tour tournaments and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1992. Little became a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1980 after an illustrious amateur career that led him to the PGA Tour, where he would win one major championship in 1940, topping Gene Sarazen in a playoff at the U.S. Open. Jones influence on golf is well-documented, so it's no surprise that he would serve as the Executive Director for the 'Golf Educational Department' in 1937.
