Circa 1885 'Knurr & Spell' Engraving by E. Kaufman from Original Circa 1814 By George Walker Del
An 1885 engraving by E. Kaufman is offered here for bidders. This was based of the original that appeared in George Walker's 1814 book "The Costume of Yorkshire." The once very popular English game of Knurr and Spell is depicted in the work. The game involved hitting "knots" with wooden sticks. The framed piece measures 21 1/8" x 18 1/8".
