Byron Nelson Signed 1945 International 4-Ball Tournament Program

When the final putt fell on March 11, 1945 and the team of Byron Nelson and Jug McSpaden were victorious in the PGA Tour's International 4-Ball Tournament at Miami Springs Country Club. It would be an amazing 5 MONTHS before Nelson would not taste victory again when the final putt dropped August 12th at Memphis. This incredible run saw Nelson win 11 straight PGA tournaments. Think of great runs in Sport, and this stands with any a record which will endure for all-time. Offered in fair to good condition (program displays fold marks, most likely from placement in a fans suit pocket) this is a treasured program from the initial win of the streak. Fully intact with strong staple binding still in place this treasure which measures 7" x 10" is a most difficult find in any condition. The man who was the Associated Press' Sportsmen of the Year in 1945, who else would it be besides Byron Nelson, has signed the cover of the program in black sharpie. James Spence Authentication has reviewed this autograph, and their letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on August 2nd with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
