Bobby Jones, Hagen, Armour, & Sarazen Signed 1935 Multi-Display - Framed
Four of the biggest names in golf have signatures featured in this framed multi-display piece offered to bidders in this lot. Included in this 33 3/4" x 38 3/4" framed display piece is a photo of Bobby Jones teeing off with [L-R] Gene Sarazen, Walter Hagen, and Tommy Armour watching on the first tee during the second Masters Tournament in 1935. This iconic photo shows the clubhouse at Augusta National and the gallery watching four of the most recognizable and iconic names in golf at the time, and in the history of the game. The photo also features the autograph of Gene Sarazen, who won the 1935 Masters in a Monday playoff over Craig Wood. Sarazen included the '1935 Masters Champion' inscription. While Sarazen signing a photo from the second-ever Masters Tournament played may have caught your interest, this framed display also includes a letter signed by Bobby Jones, as well as signed cuts by Armour and Hagen. The Bobby Jones letter is from 1945 and was signed 'Robert T. Jones' in black ink. Tommy Armour's autographed cut was signed in blue ink with 'Armour, Tommy' typed on the top left. The Walter Hagen signed cut was signed in black ink and includes the inscription 'Wishing you much success x happiness through life' with a common signature we've seen from him, 'Golfingly, Walter Hagen.' This lot features signatures from four iconic golfers and the frame is in excellent condition, showing no blemishes. With autographs from Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, Gene Sarazen, and Tommy Armour, we except heavy interest from bidders for this item.
